Trick-or-Treat, Smell Our Feet...

Oh Halloween, how I love it. . .the fun of dressing up in costumes, the loads of candy, and seeing friends as you pass through the neighborhood; only things change when your an adult, or at least your point of view! It still makes me giddy, however it's a lot more tiring than I remember as a child! Chasing 3 kids hyped up on pounds of sugar, hauling them in and out of the back of a truck from street to street, and carrying a worn out 2 year old from house to house, who just wants to keep up with her brothers. . .who am I kidding, it's still a blast! I adore their excited little faces, sweet little "Trick-or-Treat" voices, and sticky fingers from popping as much candy in their mouths as they can in the time it takes to get from one house to the next!

This year, TJ was a green ninja, or Ninjago man. . .I don't really know the difference, other than I think one is a little Lego man. Either way, he picked out his costume and I had a hard time getting him still enough for pics (not unusual)!

Tristan was Thor. At school, they went around the class asking all the kids what they were going to dress up as for Halloween. Tristan can't quite say his r's yet, so he said, "I gonna be Tho-wa." His teacher replied, "Dora?" He got a little irritated at that and said, "No, not Do-wa, I gonna be Tho-wa!" Still not understanding him, she asked a few other teachers throughout the day to see if they could understand what he was saying. And when I picked him up that afternoon, they had all thought he said Dora. Bless him and his little southern accent! He was always in character, every time I took his picture. And at each door, he would ask, "You wanna see me put the hamma down?!" I'm not sure the older crowd understood, but he just kept on with his candy quest!

And sweet Tanner, was a Cabbage Patch Baby Doll. Loved this costume. . .and her chubby little cheeks were just the perfect addition! On Wednesday, they got to wear their costumes to school, and Tristan told her that she looked "pa-wecious!" Then last night he said, "Tanna you so cute! But, I cute too!"

While I was putting Tristan to bed last night, he said "Mommy, we going twick-or-tweating tomowwow too?" To be honest, I'm already looking forward next Halloween too!

Feeling the Fall

There's a lot to love about Fall. I love football (and that's a good thing in my house), I love crisp Fall weather that we don't get very often here, jeans and boots are my favorite clothing, I love Halloween and pumpkins, and pumpkin patches! Saturday we took the fam to Jack-o-Lanern Lane. The kiddos love it there. The hayrides to pick out the perfect pumpkin.

The boys loved the cute bunnies. . .Tanner on the other hand, not so much! She was petrified. . .wouldn't go near one, and when someone tried to bring one over to her, she jumped 10 feet into the air and started balling! Maybe next year?! She hung out by the caged chickens and turkeys!

For some reason that the Hubs and I have yet to figure out, they always love the corn grinders!

I love the picturesque scenery that makes for great pics. . .when your kids will cooperate, and mine weren't so much. . .

And the pumpkins; I love the pumpkins. I love exploring every square inch of the patch, only to end up picking the first one you spotted at the entrance. But, that's what it's all about; and it's so much fun holding hands, jumping over rows of pumpkins, looking for that perfect orange pumpkin with just the right stem to compliment your doorstep.

And, I love Halloween! The cute little costumes, or "scary" tough-guy boy costumes are so much fun to see! We've got some excited little monsters at our house. . .can't wait!

With Buttons & Bows

And Eyes So Blue,
Our Little Tanner Has Turned 2!

Can't believe my baby is TWO. This is one hurts a little. Or, if I'm honest. . .a lot. But, what's a Momma to do when she's sad about her baby growing up (way too fast), but throw a party!

Her actual birthday was last Tuesday, so we celebrated at home with dinner and cupcakes!

Then Saturday was the party. Of course when your birthday is in October, and you live in the South. . .all things revolve around football. And of course, Auburn's game was scheduled right smack dab in the middle of her party. So, we watched football, and squeezed in a party during timeouts and commercial breaks!

I worked for weeks. . .in my head. . .getting the details together. I spent hours cutting, glueing (burning my fingers way too often), sewing, and wrapping. I had my own personal sweat shop. . .working late nights and Sunday afternoons. It's so crazy that once it comes together, it feels so good and makes you forget that your baby has turned TWO. Or at least for a minute.

The usual party goers arrived, some early so as not to miss a minute of the Auburn game.

While waiting on the final stragglers, the men picked their fighters and they had a little battle of the living room.

This fabulous cake was made by Hovey's House of Cakes. She has been doing cakes for me now for a few years. . .and I keep making her try new things. . .and the button cake was perfect, as always!

Once everyone finally arrived, we jumped right in with cake.

Next commercial break. . .presents. And, let me just say, Tan loved everything. One of my favorites was when she opened a card with a $10 bill inside from Granny. . .we told her to go give Granny a hug and tell her thank you; she walked over to Granny and tossed her $10 bill back!

Special day for our special girl! We love you to Infinity and Beyond, Baby Girl!

Sheesh September

It's the last day of September.

We've been busy.

With some of the regulars. Like Mayhem. If there's a line; he's going to cross it. . .every.single.time.

Like Elmo and the Cap just doing a little Saturday morning crafting. . .that's regular, at least at our house.

Though with football, mostly.

Daddy's football.

TJ's football practices. . .3 days a week.

TJ's first football game. He's #33. Plays corner.

And Homecoming Week. That goes along with football.
King Day and Twin Day.

Throw in a few birthdays. . .or four:

and you've got yourself (or myself) a really, REALLY busy September. October doesn't look to slow down much. We've got MORE football, Tanner's 2nd Birthday, Our Anniversary, and I'm sure a few surprises bound to catch us off guard! Stay Tuned. . .
