I'm gonna have to talk to the teacher...

...and this time, it's not about something TJ has done! As I posted before, I always ask TJ how his day at school was during dinner. Well, one day last week, I didn't even have to ask! He came up to me with a very serious look on his face and said:

TJ: "Mom, I need to tell you something..."

Me: (Oh No, this must be serious...he always tells on himself when he has done something wrong.) "Ok Honey, what is it?"

TJ: "Well..." (Looking down at the floor...)

Me: (This is really bad, ok...I'm ready)

TJ: "Lillee kissed me at school today."

Me: (Totally relived that this is what he needed to get off of his chest.) "She did? Where did she kiss you?"

TJ" (Looking disgusted) "On my mouth!"

Me: "Really?!"

TJ: "Yeah, and then you know what she said?"

Me: "No, what?"

TJ: "That she was IN LOVE with me!"

Me: (I look at Thomas and ask where she would hear that...)

TJ: "I don't know, but I didn't tell her I loved her!"

Me: (Whew! At least he is a true male and runs from the mention of "I love you!")

Seriously, what kind of TV has this child been watching?! Maybe I should email his teacher and let her know what is going on in her classroom, on her watch!

I know TJ will one day be the stud that his father dreams he will be, but I'm not ready for that yet and probably won't be when the day comes! I didn't think I would have to fight off the girls for at least another 10 years!

TJ and Lillee...I can imagine this is the scared look on my poor little boy's face everyday at school!

Baby Food

I think I have previously mentioned this, but if not, here it is...TJ is slightly obsessed with a certain female body part...or parts...breasts. Always has been intrigued by them. Because of this, I found it difficult to explain to him how I would be feeding his brother. I did tell him that only Mommy could feed the baby for a while, but didn't mention the method in which this would take place. Another reason being that TJ feels no shame in sharing everything we have ever done or told him to total strangers; and I didn't feel like his teacher calling me up to say that TJ had explained to the class of 4 & 5 year olds that the baby would suck on his Mommy's boobies!

So, at the hospital TJ comes in while I am feeding the baby. He climbs on the bed to give me a kiss and notices what is going on and immediately says,

TJ: "What's HE doing!?"

Me: I tried not to smile too big, and just reminded him "remember Mommy said I had to feed the baby?"

TJ: Staring intently at my breast: "Yes. What's he eating?"

Me: "Milk"

TJ: He sits and stares for another minute and you can tell he is really trying to understand. The he points to the other side and says "So, he eats food from that one?"

Tristan Joseph Hill

Well, he's finally here and what an entrance he made! I had a regularly scheduled appointment last Wendesday, March 31st at 3:30pm. I went...no change...not dialated...nothing! So, I went to Thomas' baseball games that evening. Started noticing some contractions, but they weren't anything strong or regular. By the time Thomas got home, I was starting to think that this could be it, but still wasn't sure. But, I couldn't go to sleep to I got up and got in the bath tub to relax. Around mid-night we called my mom to get her to go ahead and come to the house to stay with TJ just in case we needed to leave in the middle of the night. Once she got here, my contractions were 2 1/2 to 3 minutes apart (we had just started timing them)! So, she and Thomas thought we needed to head on to the hospital, but I was sure I had not been in labor long enough and that they were going to send us home. But, we went anyway. When I got there, I was dialated 4cm and fully thinned out. 45 minutes later when the Dr. checked I was 5 cm. I had decided I wanted an epidural, but had to wait until I could get 2 bags of IV fluid, which the nurse said wouldn't take long. Less than 30 minutes later I was screaming for Thomas to get the Dr. He ran in and said I was having the baby NOW!!! I didn't have time to get any medication...insert a 4 letter word of your choosing here...cause that's what I did...and I don't curse! 2 contractions later and he was born!

7 pounds 11 ounces and 21 inches long

Proud Big Brother

We've already had several funny TJ moments since bringing home his brother! I'll try to share those soon!
